The course offers students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the study and practice of classical Hatha Yoga. The most unique aspect of the course are the profound lessons imparted by experts in the field of Yoga, authentic ancient Indian Philosophy, anatomy and physiology in the context of Yogic Sciences, and a holistic understanding of Ayurveda and Meditation techniques. Apart from the asanas, you will learn authentic Indian Yoga Philosophy from ancient Yogic texts such as Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Bhagawad Gita, Anatomy and Physiology in the context of Yoga, and an understanding of Ayurveda, Yogic food and lifestyle.

After completing the Teacher Training course, you’ll be certified to train your participants in Yoga anywhere across the globe.

I) Asanas

  • In depth practice of Surya Namaskara and Asanas based on Traditional Hatha Yoga
  • Practice of classical advanced variations and understanding of contraindications
  • Precise and detailed posture alignment and corrections

IV) Yoga Anatomy & Physiology

  • Introduction to the major structure and functions of the human body and its organs and systems
  • The effects of asanas and pranayama on the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous and skeletal and muscular systems

V) Yoga Philosophy & Humanities

  • Introduction to Patanjali Yoga Sutras
  • Introduction to Bhagvad Gita and its significance in Yoga
  • Introduction to Ayurveda and Doshas
  • Concept of Pancha Koshas and Disease
  • Yogic Diet and Nutrition
  • Yoga Ethics

VI) Teaching Practice

  • How to teach Yoga asanas and breathing practices to beginners and intermediate students
  • Qualities of a teacher
  • Selection & sequencing of yoga practices – Create your own schedule based on the requirements of the
    participants
  • Demonstration of types of teaching methods, including the 8-steps method
  • Practical training on class management
  • Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting

In the last two weeks of the training course, participants will teach each other under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

  • Weekend Batch – 20 Mar, 2021 to 13 June, 2021– 10 am to 3.30 pm

Batch 3

  • Weekdays Batch – 1 July, 2021 to 31 Aug, 2021 – 10 am to 3.30 pm
  • Weekend Batch – 3 July, 2021 to 26 Sep, 2021 – 10 am to 3.30 pm

Batch 4

  • Weekdays Batch – 14 Oct, 2021 to 12 Dec, 2021 – 10 am to 3.30 pm
  • Weekend Batch – 16 Oct, 2021 to 2 Jan, 2022 – 10 am to 3.30 pm
    • Students will be evaluated on their participation in the programme and attitude towards the various aspects of the course.
    • In addition, students will be evaluated on:
      ** 2 hatha yoga classes taught online during the course
      ** An MCQ pattern exam conducted online on the last day
    • Simple assignments will be provided that students must complete on time.

    Certification

    • At the end of the four-week period online successful students will receive a certificate enabling them to teach Yoga online.
    • Certificate will enable students to register themselves on the Yoga Alliance USA website.

    Requirements

    • Age 18 years and above.
    • Strong internet connection (laptop is recommended for the online classes)
    • Classes will be conducted on the Zoom app and in the studio.
    • Meals: It is recommended to follow a sattvic vegetarian diet during the course, including the days off. You will notice a positive effect on your practice.
    • Course Manual: Will be provided in PDF format.
    • Kriyas: Will be practiced and demonstrated during the second week of the course. A list of materials to be arranged (from a pharmacy or through Amazon) will be sent to the students upon registration.
